A Harvest of Praise

Study Guide

The following may help you reflect further on the message
(the points could also be used as a discussion guide at fellowship groups)

  1. How relevant is a harvest festival today (in the light of last week’s message on building a relevant church)?
  2. How would you define praise? How should this be reflected in our church and in our daily life?
  3. How can Psalm 145 help us praise the Lord? How can Revelation 7:9-12 help with this?
  4. In comparison to who the world praises (pets and personalities), who do we praise? How can we share this with the world in a practical way? (See Psalm 145:1-6).
  5. It was said on Sunday that the problem with praise is that today life is too easy. How does Psalm 100 help with this?
  6. We should praise God for our daily provision, but what about the greater provision in Psalm 145:7 and vs.17-19? See also Romans 8:32.
  7. Discuss the idea that we cannot praise God in moderation. Philippians 4:19 may help in your discussion.
  8. What does it mean to praise the Lord throughout the day, throughout our lives, and throughout the world? See Psalm 113:3.
  9. Discuss the implications of Habakkuk 3:17-19 in the context of praising God when things go pear shaped. See also Romans 8:35-37.
