A Harvest of Praise
Study Guide
The following may help you reflect further on the message
(the points could also be used as a discussion guide at fellowship groups)
- How relevant is a harvest festival today (in the light of last week’s message on building a relevant church)?
- How would you define praise? How should this be reflected in our church and in our daily life?
- How can Psalm 145 help us praise the Lord? How can Revelation 7:9-12 help with this?
- In comparison to who the world praises (pets and personalities), who do we praise? How can we share this with the world in a practical way? (See Psalm 145:1-6).
- It was said on Sunday that the problem with praise is that today life is too easy. How does Psalm 100 help with this?
- We should praise God for our daily provision, but what about the greater provision in Psalm 145:7 and vs.17-19? See also Romans 8:32.
- Discuss the idea that we cannot praise God in moderation. Philippians 4:19 may help in your discussion.
- What does it mean to praise the Lord throughout the day, throughout our lives, and throughout the world? See Psalm 113:3.
- Discuss the implications of Habakkuk 3:17-19 in the context of praising God when things go pear shaped. See also Romans 8:35-37.
