Relevance of Easter

Study Guide

The following may help you reflect further on the message
(the points could also be used as a discussion guide at fellowship groups)

  1. How do you respond to those at work (or elsewhere) who wish you a happy Easter or ask if you had a good holiday? Why is it important to probe further when people are discussing these things?
  2. Discuss the radical nature of what Jesus said in Matthew 16:21.
  3. How important is what Paul said in 1 Corinthians 15:3-8? How should this affect our daily witness for Christ?
  4. Why is the resurrection of Christ just as relevant to atheists and those of other faiths? 1 Corinthians 15:14-19 could help in your discussion.
  5. Discuss the following: If the resurrection is true, we should take Christ more seriously… and it should change our life forever.
  6. How should the experience of Easter be seen in our worship, in our witness, and in our work?
  7. Discuss the relevance of Ephesians 2:1-10 in the context of the resurrection. Talk about how this affects our daily lives.
  8. How do you respond to the following… The risen Christ is with us today. He is not looking for neutrality. He is looking for commitment.
